Presentation format (60 minutes total)

Symposia will consist of a series of in-depth scientific and state-of-the-art lectures in important areas of concussion research that will bridge to an impact on best practices and policy in concussion across the lifespan. Symposia should include 3-4 speakers with a 20-25 minute presentation followed by an interactive 30-minute panel discussion at the end. The review committee encourages inclusion of panelists with wide-ranging perspectives (e.g., clinician, industry or community partners, persons with lived experience). Symposia can be moderated by author designate or one may be assigned to accepted submissions, if required. 


Content

Focus of proposals can include one or more of the following four themes: Prevention, Detection/ diagnosis, Prognosis/modifiers or Treatment of concussion. Content can highlight methodological approaches, knowledge translation, industry/commercialization or community partnerships, and/or early career contributions.


Proposal

Your submission must include the information outlined below and communicate the value and significance of the topic and speaker(s) to enable the Program and Scientific Committees to judge the merit of the proposal.

  • Title of symposium (“catchy” titles are welcome)
  • Names, titles, contact information and short bios of speakers
  • Description of symposium
  • Implications for the field/contributions and/or learning objectives
  • Aligned theme(s): Prevention; Detection and diagnosis; Prognosis and modifiers; Treatment 


Please note: An individual speaker who appears on more than one accepted submission will only be permitted to speak in one symposium at the Meeting.
